Description
Project Description:
Repair and conserve the plaster ceiling of the hearing room that is now used as office space for the park¿s Interp. Rangers and a resource library for them. The work includes but is not limited to:
- Removal of approximately 1500 SF of fiberglass batt insulation to access the upper side of the plaster ceiling above the room, and the cleaning of debris and vacuuming from the plaster.
- Once the insulation has been removed and the plaster cleaned the exposed portions of the attic electrical system will be inspected and minor electrical repairs will be carried out. It is anticipated these repairs will consist primarily of securing loose wiring and conduit and installing 3-4 missing cover plates.
- An inspection of the plaster will then be carried out to determine areas requiring repair or conservation.
- Where plaster keys have broken, and the plaster is no longer attached to the wood lath the plaster will be consolidated and re-adhered to the lath by use of a conservation grade adhesive or new plaster based on the condition of the plaster, approximately 875 SF.
