Description

36C24824Q1597 Solicitation Q and A Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center estimates need for 20 annual site visits.  James A. Haley Veterans Hospital site estimates need for 20 annual site visits. West Palm Beach VA Medical Center estimates need for 4 annual site visits. The estimated annual requirement for all 3 sites is a combined 44 sites visits.   Will all services be at the medical centers or are there CBOC s, HCC s, OPC s or other facilities that will need visits?  Each sites has main hospital Pharmacies, smaller clinic pharmacies, and state nursing home pharmacies.  But all reverse distribution will be managed strictly through the pharmacies.  Within thirty (30) days of receiving the returned goods, the Contractor shall process all designated items by sorting, listing, and processing items through either a manufacturer's credit program or through the disposal process in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations. Followed by: Returns to be processed will cover expired pharmaceuticals and pharmaceuticals due to be expire within 120 days from authorized agencies approved to participate in the VA s Pharmaceutical Prime Vendor (PPV) program Many manufacturers have policies that detail what is returnable or non-returnable based on expiration date. Eli Lilly as well as TEVA must be fully expired. This would fall under the 120 day hold period requested. The contractor will have to hold the medications in their facility under a 3rd classification of Future dates not detailed above. Will this be acceptable to the facilities?  Items cannot be held by reverse distributor, if credit cannot be obtained, item must be destroyed.   Reverse distributor will be responsible for assuring no items are held by their facility and documented destruction.  There is no information regarding Cache Medications returns. Will these be included in the documented returns?  Cache medication are released before expiration to the pharmacy areas with attempt to use before expiration.  If they expire on pharmacy shelves, the its considered pharmacy stock and will go with reverse distributor.  Is there any historical data for 2023 FY destruction of pharmaceutical waste?  Current vendor data, but they may not want released.  Is there any historical data for 2023 FY estimated return value?  Not applicable for reverse distributor. We pay reverse distributor with fee for service model only and they cannot take money for credits.
