Description
*Small Business Set-Aside*
The C-17 Program Management Office has a requirement that is for a firm-fixed price contract for one (1) NSN: 3940-01-267-0618, Sling, Beam Type, P/N: 17G130026-1, which includes one Frist Article, one Frist Article Test Plan, and one First Article Test Report. The C-17 A/C Main Landing Gear (MLG) utilizes a shock strut, connected between the axle beam and post, for absorbing landing loads. The strut is located between the center and outboard tires on each MLG. The strut uses a mixed air/fluid arrangement for pressurization with a 12-gallon fluid capacity. The empty weight of the strut is approximately 312 lbs. The O.D. of the cylindrically shaped strut is approximately 11” and the compressed and extended lengths of the strut are approximately 44” and 66” respectively. One end of the strut incorporates a clevis which is attached to the axle beam using a 2.5” O.D. pin. The other end of the strut incorporates a self-aligning bearing for attachment to a 3.4” O.D. pin on the post.
A device is required to interface a crane, (P/N: TBD), to the shock strut in order to remove and replace the strut on the A/C and move the strut about the shop; at the organizational, intermediate and depot levels of maintenance. The device must provide a means of hoisting the strut in the compressed position and prevent the strut from extending, which could cause handling problems. The A/C must be jacked to relieve the A/C load from the strut, and then the strut must be depressurized before being removed.
Delivery is FOB Destination with shipments in the continental United States. This requirement will be solicited as a Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. The Government will utilize the Past Performance Information Retrieval System (PPIRS), Excluded Parties List System (EPLS), and other Government databases to determine contractor status before evaluating proposals. Proposals will be evaluated based on the criteria stated in the RFQ. All data for this system is considered EXPORT CONTROLLED. Proposals are due by 27 May 2024 by 5:00 PM EST.
