The Department of Veterans Affairs is in need of, five IntelliCart Systems for the Operating Room to support Togus VA Medical Center. The VA intends to award a firm fixed price contract to one vendor capable of supplying IntelliCart Systems of said requirement. Performance Work Statement (PWS) Design and Content Introduction The VA Maine HCS requires five IntelliCart Systems for the Operating Room at Togus. Background In fulfilling the core values of the VA, our clinic strives to maintain excellence by providing the highest quality care while looking for continuous improvement. Currently the Operating Room uses older obsolete carts that are no longer serviceable from 12/31/21. These carts are over seven years old, and the VA had been spending about $10,000.00 a year on repairs alone. The new proposed carts will reduce the costs of repairs dramatically and provide several advantages as outlined below. Scope (Provide an overview of the PWS emphasizing the most important aspects of your requirement and defining the boundaries of the contractor s performance responsibilities). This project will provide five State of the Art IntelliCart Systems for the operating Room at Togus. With market leading 34-liter fluid capacity, extra quiet vacuum pump, clog-free suction manifolds and portable smoke evacuation, the IntelliCart System makes managing surgical fluid and smoke waste hazards simple and convenient. This is the standard of care outside the VA and with essential features as; Redesigned vacuum pump with greater usable vacuum flow at a sound level of only 47.5dB (3.87 sones) Dual 17-liter lighted reservoirs with ConSeal Tint Technology selectively hide surgical fluids Clog-free manifold with integrated high-flow filter protects against vacuum system moisture ingress Simple and interactive, high-definition touch screen display Flexible docking system simplifies Cart processing in any dirty utility room PlumeVac Smoke Evacuator available on or off the cart Reservoir doors close when manifolds are removed Reusable reservoirs and recyclable manifolds reduce OR red bag waste by up to 70% Advanced cleaning technology uses hot water, enzymatic, and an EPA approved disinfectant Backward compatible with UltrafleX Fluid Cart Manifolds and Ultra Evac Station Applicable Directives (List all documents referenced in the next section 5.0, Performance Requirements, with which the contractor will have to comply in performance of the contract effort. If only portions of a given document apply, specifically identify the applicable portions). The system must meet the manufacturer s specifications and be designed and implemented within the vendors 510K system design as an FDA regulated medical device/system. The contractor will be doing onsite training on the device purchase and there will not be any patient sensitive information on the system and they will not have access to such information while training staff. Performance Requirements (Identify what the contractor is required to do (major tasks and subtasks). The vendor will as part of their project plan outline a timeline for implementing the project for the Operating Room at Togus and provide the deliverables as outlined in 6.0. Deliverables (List all data required to manage or monitor contractor performance). The vendor as part of the quote will provide the following to ensure the configuration of the systems and will ensure full functionality. One-year manufacturer warranty Delivery Onsite Training Operation manual Service manual This project will include all and any peripheral items to ensure a fully functional system. (misc. hardware or req. hardware upgrades, network switches, video cards, KVM switches, cabling, mouse, keyboards etc.) to ensure the functionality of the final product.
