Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to TSI, Inc. for the purchase of two (2) Portable Nanoparticle Sizers including Software and Accessory Kit with AC Adaptor, two (2) Rechargable Batteries, Alcohol Fill Capsule, 500 ml External Fill Bottle, 30 ml Isopropanol Bottles, Zero Filter and USB Cable. The TSI NanoScan SMPS is the only available portable SMPS with reliable real-time measurements of size distribution mass concentrations of submicron to micron-sized aerosols.
This instrument is the only one that can provide comparable data to match measurements made with our current NanoScan SMPS, allowing us to collect simultaneous measurements in multiple locations in a workplace setting which is critical to understanding workplace settings where multiple processes occur in multiple locations simultaneously. The instrument can measure a wide range of aerosol sizes from 0.01 to 10 micrometers in real time. The high resolution of the instrument enables up to 500 size bins and can collect data every second.
No deviation from this instrument is allowed without revision to these documents and notification to the NPPTL stakeholders. The TSI SMPS is the only viable instrument that will fulfill the CDC-NIOSH-NPPTL Mission.
This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested parties may identify their interest and submit documentation of their capability to respond to the requirement.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
Any response should be emailed to the appropriate point of contact at EEH3@cdc.gov by 11:00 AM on 9 May 2022.
