The Indian Health Service (IHS) National Nurse Leadership Council (NNLC) retains the right to assign and/or change exhibit locations. IHS NNLC reserves the right to refuse exhibit space to any applicant whose exhibit is not consistent with the mission of the conference or the rules and regulations of the meeting facility. Disclaimer: Selection by the IHS to participate as an exhibitor or a vendor at the IHS Nurse Leadership Summit does not constitute an endorsement or government sanction of those non-government entities, services, or products.

United States Indian Arts and Crafts Act

Anyone applying as an Indian artisan must comply with the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 (P.I. 101-644), which prohibits misrepresentation in marketing of Indian arts and crafts products within the United States. The Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 is a truth-in advertising law. It is illegal to offer or display for sale or to sell any art or craft product in a manner that falsely suggests it is Indian-produced, an Indian product, or the product of a particular Indian tribe. Under the Act:

1. Indian is defined as a member of a state or federally recognized tribe or certified Indian artisan;

2. Certified Indian artisan means an individual who is certified by the governing body of an Indian tribe as a nonmember Indian artisan;

3. Indian product means any art of craft product made by an Indian; and

4. Indian labor makes the Indian art or craft object an Indian product.

Please note the following two definitions of Indian tribe:

1. Any federally recognized Indian tribe, band, nation, Alaska Native village, or organized group or community.

2. Any Indian group that has been formally recognized as an Indian tribe by a state legislature or by a state commission or similar organization legislatively vested with state tribal recognition authority.
