Description
The purpose of this effort is to determine the impact analysis of the CBR and PEPPER
programs and how effective they are helping to meet the goals of reducing provider burden,
reducing appeals, and reducing improper payments.
The primary goals of this effort are to determine:
• Whether the programs have resulted in cost avoidance savings
• Whether the programs have resulted in claims savings
• Whether the programs are focusing on sending reports to the providers and facilities who are most at risk for improper payments and appeals
• The program’s return on investment (ROI)and recommendations for ways to potentially increase ROI
• If there is a reduction in administrative cost and/or a reduction in provider burden from the program
• Analyze qualitative measures that contribute to the program effectiveness
• Determine if metric values that are established for CBRs and Peppers programs are different in vulnerable versus non-vulnerable populations
