AMENDMENT 0001: The purpose of this amendment is to:

a.) Provide an update to Section 01 14 00 of the Specifications.

b.) Provide the Site Visit Sign-In Sheet, Site Visit Power Point Slides, and the Virtual Pre-Proposal Power Point Slides.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Nashville District (LRN), is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitation for a single firm fixed-price (FFP) Construction Contract for the Center Hill Dam Spillway Gates and Machinery Replacement Project near Lancaster, TN. The scope of this requirement includes the replacement of eight (8) spillway tainter gates and nine (9) gate lifting machinery setups, including, but not limited to, wire rope and drum setup, high and low-speed gear boxes, 10 hp electric motor, bull and pinion gears, and machinery base on each gate pier for the Center Hill Dam located near Lancaster, TN in DeKalb County. The Center Hill Dam Spillway Gates and Machinery Replacement Contract will restore the dam to its full functionality as it was intended, once built. 

The major features of this Contract include fabrication and installation of the new gates and lifting machinery equipment that is required to operate the gates. To accomplish these major features, the scope will include the following items: 

1) Fabricate eight (8) new spillway tainter gates;
2) Remove and dispose of the existing spillway tainter gates, existing lifting equipment, and lifting equipment machinery base;
3) Work platform to install the new spillway tainter gates;
4) Install the spillway tainter gates and gate lifting machinery equipment, electrical features, and install new lifting gate machinery base;
5) Modify bridge to access the lifting machinery equipment for replacement; and
6) Work from bridge is limited to one (1) lane closure with a few short term “hourly” road closures for special lifts

DISCLOSURE OF MAGNITUDE OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT: Between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000.

NAICS CODE AND SBA SIZE STANDARD: 237990 – Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction; $39,500,000.

TYPE OF SET-ASIDE: None (Full and Open/Unrestricted)

*Technical Plans and Specifications are still currently at 95% (they have not changed since they were posted prior to the site visit). The Final Plans and Specs will be published with an amendment once they are ready for publication. *
