HT9402-16-D-0001 P00049 - TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) Extension of Services

This individual justification and approval (J&A) is for a bridge action to extend the length of Contract HT9402-16-D-0001,TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) for up to 2 years, 6 months, from May 1, 2022, through October 31, 2024. This bridge action supports ongoing delivery of the dental health care insurance program to all eligible family members of Uniformed Service active duty personnel, and members of the Selected Reserve and Individual Ready Reserve and their eligible family members as required by 10 USC 1076a, and is requested to avoid a lapse in coverage while DHA pursues the competitive follow-on acquisition.

The Department of Defense (DoD) through the DHA has a mission to offer dental care services to eligible TRICARE beneficiaries. These dental care services are required by statute (Title 10 U.S.C., Chapter 55. Title 32 CFR Parts 199.3, 199.6,199.9, 199.10 and 199.13). In order to fulfill DHA’s mission, the TDP contractor provides comprehensive dental care services worldwide to eligible TRICARE beneficiaries under theTDP. The TDP geographic area of coverage for the Continental United States (CONUS) includes the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) service area includes all other countries,island masses and territorial waters. There are an estimated 1.85 million enrollees.
