The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to complete a sole source award for the IonOptix Fura-2 Calcium and Contractility Acquisition System with IonOptix LLC, 396 University Ave, Westwood, MA 02090 for the Providence VA Medical Center, Research and Development Office, located at 830 Chalkstone Ave, Providence RI 02908. The IonOptix Myocyte Calcium and Contractility System is fully integrated, so that the researcher can be up to speed within days of delivery and will enable investigators to acquire
isolated cardiomyocyte cell length and sarcomere spacing with their calcium data. The speed will
save investigators time and the integrated system will save money. Some required features are a complete turn-key system; simultaneous, synchronized calcium photometry and cell shortening measurements; suitable for a variety of cell types, such as adult cardiomyocytes, skeletal muscle, and iPSC-CMs; Fast, quantitative calcium software suite includes intuitive transient analysis customizable to our specific research needs. IonOptix, LLC is the sole manufacturer, distributor and vendor of IonOptix products.
Since the intent is to procure this on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to FedBizOps (FBO). A Sources Sought Notice published to FBO on 07/27/2022 under # 36C24E22Q0205, returned no results. The applicable NAICS code is 334516 with a 1000 employee size standard. The PSC is 6640. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1-1 Only One Responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
