1/11/2024:
It is our understanding that the drill tubes are tooling and in order to be prepared for possible scenarios, the request would be to have 1 each of drill tubes spanning from .551in – 1.693in. or whatever dimensional range is provided for the unit. It is our assumption that these items can be purchased from the vendor after contract award based on tooling requirements. This is the same for the guide bushings. Rock Island Arsenal JMTC has a tooling department that handles ordering tooling items, however, it is requested that a set be provided with the machine to ensure effective start up procedures.
In regards to the centering cones versus the 8-in diameter chuck, The 8 in chuck is to be reflected. The centering cones were boiler plate material based on previous procurements of this type of equipment. It is unsure if our current cones would be compatible with this machine therefore it can be disregarded. Again, the assumption here is that after contract award, we can order tooling from the awarded vendor to supplement the equipment based on our tooling needs.

Additional Information:
Currently workload is Alloy Steel but it would not be uncommon for there to be aluminum, and occasionally brass work. This is not an all encompassing list. If it can be drilled, bored on a deep hole, the potential for it to go on this machine exists.
As for the runoff, part would be expected as part of the requirement. At this time, a part has not been identified, but per the RIPD the contractor would be responsible for a runoff part that showcases the capabilities of the equipment.
