Description

NOAA’s Office of Geostationary Earth Orbit Observations (GEO), formally GOES-R will host an in-person Industry Day on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the NASA Goddard Visitor Center. The Industry Day event hosted by the GEO Ground Project Management Office will provide an overview of the GEO Program, GEO Ground System operations today, and plans for evolving the Ground System to support additional NOAA-NASA satellite missions. There will also be an opportunity for interested vendors to have a brief, private meeting with the Government to demonstrate their capabilities, express their opinions, or ask questions. With the NOAA-NASA Geostationary Extended Observations (GeoXO) mission on the horizon, GEO is seeking help to evolve the current ground system to support GeoXO and other space weather (SWx) mission requirements while reducing the overall sustainment burden.

The Industry Day event will be hosted at the NASA Goddard Visitor Center in Maryland (9432 Greenbelt Rd, Greenbelt, MD 20771). The NASA Goddard Visitor Center does offer free parking. Check-in for the event will be from 8:00a to 9:00a local time. The event itself, which includes an overview of the program, operations today, and a Q&A session about evolving and sustaining the ground system, will be from 9:00a to 12:00p (noon) local time.  Private, one-on-one sessions between the vendor and the Government will be scheduled in the afternoon. Between 1:00p and 4:00p there will be six 25-minute time slots available. These slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. In the event that all afternoon timeslots are reserved/taken, the Government will work with the interested vendor to schedule a virtual session within 48 hours of the Industry Day event.

All attendees are required to register online to provide their company name and attendee names with titles and contact information by 5pm EST, Friday, November 1, 2024. Please register using the following NOAA Google Form: https://forms.gle/bj8vxggQdg9ru9GW9. Space at the event is limited to 50 representatives. Interested vendors can register up to 3 persons to attend in-person and indicate their interest in an afternoon one-on-one session. Please register early as we are currently limiting in-person attendance at the event due to space constraints at the federal facility.

A preliminary RFI has been provided as an attachment. The preliminary RFI references three other attachments which are also included in this notice. The Preliminary RFI attached to this notice is provided for informational purposes only. NOAA does not expect, nor will it accept any responses to this preliminary RFI. NOAA will publish a final RFI in the weeks following this Industry Day event.

Q&As for questions asked during event registeration added via attachment 10/31/2024.  No other changes to notice.
