This acquisition is for the procurement of NSNs 6115- 01-608- 5870 (the Engine Repair Kit), 6115- 01-607-7450( the 150kw Reset Kit) and 6115- 01- 625- 2086 (the Recap Kit). These kits support the repair of the PATRIOT Missile Defense System’s 150 kW, 400 Hz generator set. Specifically, the kits will be used to overhaul the Electric Power Plant (EPP).

The EEP is the power source for the Engagement Control Station (ESC) and Radar. The EPP consists of two 150 kilowatt diesel turbine engines (the same turbines that power Apache helicopters) with 400 hertz generators that are interconnected through the power distribution unit. The generators are mounted on a modified M977 Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT). Each EPP has two 75- gallon (280 L) fuel tanks and a fuel distribution assembly with grounding equipment. Each diesel engine can operate more than 8 hours with a full fuel tank. The EPP delivers its power to the Radar and ECS through cables stored in reels alongside the generators.

Based on market research, this item is manufactured for military use only and are not commercial products; therefore, FAR Part 15 will apply to this acquisition.  This acquisition will not be set aside for small business. The Government does not possess a Technical Data Package (TDP) for the kits.
