Description

This is a Sources Sought notice only looking for vendors who carry this item. No awards will be made from this posted notice. The VA Black Hills Healthcare System is in need of a document/data destruction system as described below. VA BHHCS Fort Meade & Hot Springs, SD VAMCs 2/8/2023 Shredder Specifications: Throughput: 1,400 * lbs/hr Master Control Panel Soundproofed/double-wall construction Magnetic starter Hinged, drop-down style cradle for easy access Throat Size: 14" x 24" inches Knives: 7 Motor: 30 HP Electrical: 220/460 V Dimensions: 70.25"H x 44"W x 51"D Weight: 2,540 lbs NSA evaluated and meets NSA/CSS Specification 02-02 for High Security Disintegrators, 04-02 for Optical Media (CDs and DVDs), and 04-01 for keytape. This heavy duty, mid volume 7-blade disintegrator comes standard with a 30 HP motor, with the option to upgrade. A flexible 14" x 24" feed opening allows for an array of materials to be put into the Shredder. Includes a Master Control Panel and offers the option of adding an integrated, infeed cleated conveyor. This conveyor significantly reduces strenuous work load and makes feeding materials like paper, CDs/DVDs, bulky plastics, or fabrics to the cutting chamber even easier. The shredder also comes standard with the X-3 Twin Bag, Fan-Type Waste Evacuation System. Unlike the single bag evacuation systems, the twin bag proves efficient and powerful for the removal of residue. An optional Feed Rate Meter indicates how tough your machine is working and whether you are in danger of overloading the machine. Electrical and magnetic safety interlocks exist to protect the user and shut down the machine should any internal components be exposed. HIGH VOLUME, rugged unit with integrated mounted Master Control Panel and Feed Rate Meter. MCP features operator interface with electronic limit switches and safety interlocks. Provides automatic, sequenced start up and shut down of system components with Emergency E-stop. Feed Rate Meter guides operator feeding to maximize productivity and minimize downtime. Front feed, hinged hopper with safety chocks to hold it in upright position and removable flap assembly that tilts out of the way for unobstructed access to ensure operator safety during maintenance and inspection. Open rotor design allows for greater airflow through the cutting chamber to pull material more efficiently into the cutting area and through the screen. Open rotor designs are also quieter & create less heat buildup in the cutting chamber due to increased airflow. High inertia flywheel and rotor permit low RPM operation and reduced energy consumption. Complete, soundproofed hopper and base, double-wall construction. Base mounted on heavy duty casters for mobility. NEMA 12 rated enclosures for electrical components, exclusive to Datastroyer disintegrators, offer additional protection to guard against equipment outages. Magnetic & safety interlocks. Fly-back curtains in disintegrator hopper ensure safety, and fully enclosed belt guard with set of 4 adjustable, safety V-belts. Knives are High Chrome, High Carbon (D-2) steel, especially heat treated with our proprietary process for exceptionally long life, so knife maintenance and replacement costs are minimized. Reversible bed knives offer greater longevity and reduced maintenance costs due to less frequent sharpening. The screen is interchangeable for greater longevity and the screen cradle is a drop-down design that allows for fast, convenient and unobstructed screen removal. Double-sealed bearings lubricated for life to minimize downtime with all fasteners American National Standard. Safety limit switches to ensure open circuit condition during maintenance and inspection. Warranty: 5 Years on defective arts and workmanship, 90 days labor.
