Description
On 24 June 2024, in accordance with 10 U.S. Code § 4022, the Army Contracting Command – Orlando has awarded an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) via the Training and Readiness Accelerator II (TReX II) for the Known Distance Automated Scoring (KDAS) Prototype Project.
A Request for Solutions for these efforts was issued to the TReX II consortium on 08 December 2023, which resulted in the submittal of 6 total responses. As a result of the competition, the prototype project was awarded to Advanced Technology International, Inc. (ATI) as the managing prime to Sensormetrix, Inc. located in San Diego, CA.
The KDAS program of record is directly tied to Marine Corps rifle marksmanship training and readiness. Combat Marksmanship proficiency is a key element in the foundation of military effectiveness in ground combat operations. This is a “total force” program as all Marines are required to be trained and qualified to effectively employ the individual service weapons with which they are assigned. This program will introduce modern, innovative technology solutions to keep pace with the enhanced, realistic annual qualifications standards of the Marine Corps. The development of the technology envisioned will significantly enhance training effectiveness and efficiency and increase individual Marine lethality.
